Contract of Employment Expectations
The Duties of staff are as follows:

Before the start of programs:
Obtain Criminal Record Check. Undergo Geering Up training in various areas (first aid, WHMIS, Chemical Safety, Aboriginal cultural training, creating positive spaces, supporting children with learning and behaviour disorders, etc.) as organized by the Directors. Attend staff meetings. Start initial preparation of workshop activities and materials.

During the Program
Continue previous activities as outlined above. Steward the safety of all Geering Up participants, volunteers, staff, as well as our local community. Uphold the Geering Up brand in all interactions with colleagues, teachers, parents,community members, and UBC staff. Deliver engaging hands‐on STEM programming to BC youth through clubs/camps/workshops. Act as a mentor to new Geering Up Staff.

Attend Staff Training. Research, design and test demonstrations and projects, refine program curriculum. Perform workshops, projects, and demonstrations. Attend First Aid Training, and Exceptionalities Training. Provide supervision and instruction to children, youth, and volunteers. Gather and procure materials and supplies; ensure that the necessary apparatus and supplies are assembled for projects, demonstrations and workshops; and report on inventory. Provide on‐going evaluations of programming as well as other staff. Submit incident, behaviour, and feedback reports in a timely manner. Assist and perform other duties as required by the Co-Directors.

The Instructor will maintain a record of evaluations, suggestions, tips and contacts that will be used in the development of the final report and resources for the following year’s staff. The Instructor must ensure that they can demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding of the principles involved in the projects and demonstrations.

After the program
Complete final reporting as required, documenting all curriculum taught and uploading it to the Actua Exchange. Provide timely feedback to the Co‐Directors and Board of Advisors for next year’s programs.

Carry out the mandates of your position. Continue previous activities as outlined above. Steward the safety of all Geering Up participants, volunteers, staff, as well as our local community. Uphold the Geering Up brand in all interactions with colleagues, teachers, parents,community members, and UBC staff. Deliver engaging hands‐on STEM programming to BC youth through clubs/camps/workshops. Act as a mentor to new Geering Up Staff.

Provide on‐going evaluations of programming as well as other staff to the Board and Program Manager. Submit incident, behaviour, and feedback reports in a timely manner. Assist and perform other duties as required by the Program Manager.

Staff will maintain a record of evaluations, suggestions, tips and contacts that will be used in the development of the final report and resources for the following year’s staff.

After the program
Complete final reporting as required, documenting all programming and creating transition documents for the next year's team. Provide advice to the Board of Advisors and Program Manager for next year’s programs.
