Thanks to the generous contributions of our supporters, we are able to offer bursaries to subsidize program fees, allowing our programs to be more accessible to as many youth as possible. We offer bursaries up to 90% and ask that parents/guardians apply for what their current needs are. Bursaries help us reach youth who otherwise would not be able to attend our camps.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Submit your application through the form published when applications open.
- The Geering Up team will review all applications and email you regarding your status within 3 weeks.
Note: If you see the confirmation message on the webpage after hitting submit, we have received your application. You will not receive an email confirmation for your application. Please refrain from emailing us for updates within the 3 week window mentioned above. - If your application is approved, you will be provided a coupon code to use when registration opens. You will be able to register for the camp of your choosing within the location you applied for.
Frequently Asked Questions
We will ask you to tell us why you are applying for a bursary and why your camper would like to come to our camps. We will not ask you to provide any financial information to us. Lastly, we’ll ask you about what percentage bursary you need. We can only offer bursaries that cover up to 90% of the camp cost. We encourage those who have the means to, to choose lower bursary percentages as this helps our bursary funds go further. Choosing a lower bursary percentage covered by Geering Up will not negatively impact your application.
Unfortunately at this time, Geering Up is only able to offer one bursary per child per camp season. Bursaries are intended for those who otherwise would not have the opportunity to go to camp, and to allow as many youth to explore STEM as possible. We do offer clubs throughout the school year and your child would be eligible for another bursary in that program.
We will send you a special discount code that you can use when you register through our registration system Active. It’s kind of like using an online gift card!
