Welcome to the Junior Instructor Program!
Program Objectives
- Facilitate STEM education in week-long camps or weekly clubs
- Gain teaching and leadership skills
- Work with a diverse team of like-minded individuals
- Mentor youth in STEM
What are Junior Instructors?
Junior Instructors are high school or university students who lend a helping hand at our clubs and camps. Junior Instructors are invited to work closely alongside our instructor team to deliver and share STEM to youth in a hands-on and dynamic learning environment. This involves some curriculum development, assisting with lesson delivery, materials preparation, teaching opportunities, and more.
Junior Instructors can volunteer at one of the following locations:
UBC Vancouver, Richmond, South Surrey, North Vancouver, or Coquitlam.

Basic Applicant Requirements
1. Currently in Grade 9 or higher
2. Residing in the British Columbia lower mainland for the duration of volunteering
*All successful applicants must complete a Criminal Record Check upon admission into the program.
