Spring Break Pro-D with Scratch
What is Spring Break Pro-D?
Geering Up is excited to offer a two-day Scratch workshop for grades 4 – 9 teachers and administrators. Join us for 1 or 2 days of learning, coding, and exploring activities you can bring back to your classrooms.
Day 1: Introduction to Scratch
Day 1 is perfect for any teacher who is brand new or quite new to using Scratch. We will go over all of the basics of Scratch so that you are confident in your ability to run basic activities using Scratch!
Day 2: Activities using Scratch
Day 2 will continue where day 1 left off using your newly acquired skills to explore a variety of activities with Scratch. Time will be dedicated to discussing how to incorporate Scratch in your teaching practice. Join us on day 2 if you are already comfortable with Scratch!
Teachers are welcome to attend both Day 1 and 2, only day 1, or only day 2.

What is Scratch?
Scratch is an open-source easy-to-use coding platform created by MIT. With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations. Scratch uses block-based programming which makes it accessible for students and teachers with no prior coding experience.
